Thank you for visiting INTERTWINED!

As you follow along each week, you’ll learn some specifics about me and an embarrassing story or two. But this is me in a nutshell: I’m an over-the-hill, out-of-shape, working mom with a passion for words. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s been my home since 1989. My husband and I have been married for 30 years, and we have two amazing boys, ages 18 and 16. I worked in church ministry/early childhood education for 18 years, but recently went back to teaching Jr. High and High School. I teach art online at a charter school, so I am blessed to be able to work from home and teach the subject most dear to my heart.

We also have two dogs, Rocket and Booster. Rocket is an 8-year-old mixed breed and the result of a Craigslist scam; she is quirky, barks a lot, and loves to cuddle. Booster is a 4-year-old Border Collie and my therapy dog. He is the result of a Craigslist win; he loves to play fetch and eat ice. They both bring lots of joy to our home.

 I have a knack for reorganizing things and making inedible food (except for cookies). I’m known for humming tunes without realizing it, twirling my hair, and laughing at my own jokes. I love Eeyore and Wonder Woman, and I’m often acting like one or the other. I scare easily, am a picky eater, and I make a lot of mistakes. I love the outdoors, and I’ll pick mountains over oceans any day.

I will do my best to make you laugh, cry, and think. They are my favorite things about being human. I hope you find some comfort in this little corner of the internet. Life is full of struggles and imperfections, but when we do life together with God and each other, it is a place of freedom and wonder.

You are here for a reason, and I hope we find out together! God did not intend for you to do life alone: “And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12

I’m not perfect, but I am loved perfectly. And so are you.
